The Stanford Education Data Archive (SEDA) is an initiative aimed at harnessing data to help scholars, policymakers, educators, and parents learn how to improve educational opportunity for all children. According to the SEDA report, the Madison Elementary School District provides higher than average educational opportunities. Madison students score 0.61 grade levels above the U.S. average. Average scores of Madison students are 0.37 grade levels higher than districts with similar socioeconomic status. In Madison, students’ test scores increased an average of 0.03 grade levels each year from 2009-2016. The SEDA utilized the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) results to create a process for comparing the state test scores which all have unique performance levels thresholds and/or scales.
